The Last of Us fans are losing it over the release of Part III, and it’s not even real yet.
Without question, when The Last of Us Part III does arrive, fans of the Naughty Dog series will go into a meltdown, for better or worse.
I can remember so clearly playing the pre-release demo of The Last of Us included in copies of God of War: Ascension in 2013.
I was already smitten with this game before its launch, but my hype levels reached fever pitch when I played The Last of Us for the very first time on PlayStation 3.

The sequel would not arrive until 2020, and to say that social media would go into a frenzy before it was released would be an understatement. There were silly rumours involving the new character Abby, which were later proven to be untrue.
What’s more, without giving anything away, just in case you’ve not played The Last of Us Part II, there was a major scene involving a leading character that angered many fans (myself included). But as the story unfolded, certain actions were understood, whether we liked them or not.
While The Last of Us Part III hasn't been officially confirmed, Neil Druckmann has teased its arrival more than once, and when it does arrive, fans might have to prepare for even more meltdowns.
“The internet will not be ready for this day…,” tweeted DomTheBomb with a mock-up of The Last of Us Part III logo, retweeting ULTRAS_KO.

“I bet they won't be,” claimed Greginator1996.
“I already forgave whoever they’re gonna make me hate in this one,” said EveryPostHits.
“God, it’s hard to imagine the emotions I’ll feel on that day,” exclaimed SubTXT.
“I'd pre-order that so fast,” declared TeamMizzo.

We’ll update if or when Naughty Dog drops any information on The Last of Us Part III. That being said, it might be safe to assume that its release could be a couple of years away.
