It looks as if PlayStation has quietly cancelled many remaining dates of PlayStation: The Concert in the US, causing much disappointment to those who had tickets to attend.
PlayStation: The Concert, if you don’t know, is an arena tour that kicked off in the UK earlier this year before venturing over to Europe.
The concert sees iconic PlayStation scores played live, accompanied by groundbreaking visuals and effects.
Those who attend have the opportunity to hear music from The Last of Us, Uncharted, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Astro Bot, Helldivers II, God of War, and more.

It’s no major secret, if you’ve been paying attention, that the tour hasn’t done all that well.
I attended one of the UK dates and while I had a great time, the stage was heavily brought forwards, making the arena a fraction of the size it’s capable of being.
I’ll admit, the orchestra bringing the music to life was also far smaller than I anticipated, with the show heavily relying on backing tracks.
Ticket prices have been slashed by 50% in some regions, and some European shows have already been pushed back or cancelled.

Well now, as spotted by VGC, remaining US dates are in the process of being quietly cancelled.
Ticket holders in Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, Charlotte, and more have reported being notified of their respective event’s cancellation.
VGC’s report points out that dates in New York, Reading, Washington DC, Grand Rapids, Huntsville, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia have already been cancelled on Ticketmaster.
One date that remains open is Red Bank, New Jersey, on 11 November.

Clicking on this date though shows that the vast majority of seats haven’t sold.
At a glance, I’d estimate that perhaps 5% of seats are booked. You can understand why PlayStation is doubting whether it’s worth putting on a show.
Not all dates have yet formally been cancelled.
There are 25 dates left in total, all with plenty of tickets available.

I had a look at examples in New York and Los Angeles, both of which had shifted very few seats.
For LA’s Peacock Theatre date, it looks as if balcony levels and the outer stalls have been blanked out from sale to draw those in attendance closer together.
It would be great to get some clarity on these cancellations. For example, is it just lower-selling concerts that have been cancelled?
I can’t imagine fans are going to want to buy tickets for the remaining dates if they don’t have reassurance that those dates are going ahead.

It’s, of course, a major shame to those who were excited to go.
“That’s actually f**ked,” wrote Twitter/X user Moork_LaBoork.
“Damn, I was actually looking forward to this,” added another user.
There’s definitely an audience for video game concerts; I just sense PlayStation should’ve noticed the niche appeal of the event, opting for smaller venues in less cities.
