It is a sad day for one studio as its upcoming action-adventure game has already been taken down from the official PlayStation Store.
Set to be released on 10 June, MindsEye is an upcoming action-adventure title from Build a Rocket Boy which is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
However, just a few days before its release, reports have revealed that MindsEye is no longer available to preorder on the official Japanese PlayStation Store.

Not only that but any current pre-orders are being refunded.
No reason has been provided on the storefront and according to one user over on ResetEra, an official email received by those whose pre-orders have been cancelled also did not receive a reason as to why.
“I've checked myself and it is indeed no longer available for preorder in JPN - no reason is given - and I've received the full email with headers of a refund from somebody on X, which shows a refund with no stated reason,” they shared.
“People are speculating on X that it is due to the product not receiving certification for release.”

It is true that certification, or lack thereof, may be the reason behind Sony’s decision.
This could be due to a false rating to SIE or a lack of submission at all but this is all just speculation and the official reason is still unknown.
Nevertheless, this will be a huge blow to Build a Rocket Boy, especially as MindsEye is so close to release.
MindsEye has been met with multiple blows such as studio executives reportedly leaving Build a Rocket Boy ahead of the game’s launch.

This does not spell well for the game which has already been likened to Grand Theft Auto.
“MindsEye is a narrative driven, single-player action-adventure thriller set in the near-future fictional desert city of Redrock,” the official synopsis reads.
“Featuring best-in-class cinematics, high octane driving, and explosive combat from game director Leslie Benzies.”
MindsEye launches on 10 June for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Except in Japan.
