PlayStation Plus users have been warned over one of the free game downloads available for this month.
Your PlayStation Plus Essential picks for November are already off to a good start. Stray has seen lots of critical acclaim over the years, while Totally Accurate Battle Simulator has been called “unforgettable”.
However, PlayStation Plus users have been warned against redeeming EA Sports WRC 24, which is also available on the service this month.
There appears to be a major problem with the PlayStation Plus version of EA Sports WRC 24, and it’s something that could see you potentially losing content that you previously paid for.

As reported on the PlayStation Plus Reddit page, one user claims that redeeming the PS Plus version of EA Sports WRC 24 will overwrite the original paid licence of the game.
As the user writes, “If you already own the original EA SPORTS WRC then it looks like adding this '24' version to your library via PS+ is going to overwrite your original base game purchased license with a new license that is then tied to your on-going PS+ subscription.”

What does this mean for users?
What this means is that if you already bought EA Sports WRC in the past, then redeeming EA Sports WRC 24 on PlayStation Plus may tie the game licence to your subscription.

So in essence, if you were to unsubscribe from PlayStation Plus at a later date, it would mean potentially losing access to your paid copy of EA Sports WRC which you bought prior to redeeming the PS Plus version.
The OP states that they have “not personally tested this - because I don't want my license to be overwritten”, however the data available on the PlayStation Store points to this potentially being the case.
So, we’d exercise caution for any EA Sports WRC owners who wish to grab the ‘24’ DLC from the PlayStation Store. It’s possible that redeeming it could overwrite your original paid licence.
Sony has not commented on this bug on the PlayStation Store, but there’s hope from users that the company will eventually crack down on this error, especially as this is not the first time it has occurred.

This month’s PlayStation Plus Essential offerings are available with all active subscriptions, and will be able to be redeemed until 1st December.
Last month, users had the chance to add Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and indie darling Cocoon to their libraries.
