PlayStation Plus is losing a hefty handful of games next month. Yes, it’s sad but it’s the circle of life as they say.
Old games get shuffled out and new games get shuffled in, but before it goes please do yourself a favour and play Risk of Rain 2.
Risk of Rain 2 is a highly-rated third-person shooter you can either play alone or with friends. It’ll be better with friends, of course, but no judging if you’d rather fly solo.
After crash landing on a hostile planet your one goal is to escape by any means, but the perils ahead of you make that incredibly difficult at first.

To survive these hazards you must adapt which involves exploring the world and taking on the wide-variety of menaces halting your way home.
You’re going to die a lot, but the roguelike mechanics make each death worth it as over time, you’ll amass a powerful arsenal of upgraded gear.
Eventually, you’ll be strong enough to blast your way through any obstacle, and you can speed up the process by putting together a solid team equipped to deal with any threat.
It’s good fun and on Steam, it's got a 95% rating with over 160,000 reviews. On the PlayStation Store, it’s sitting pretty at four stars, and was an excellent if not underrated addition to PlayStation Plus for the longest time. Due to the sheer number of titles available through the service, it feels like this one flew under many gamers’ radars.

Unfortunately, you don’t have long to give it a go, as it’ll be removed from PlayStation Plus Extra next month along with 10 other games.
That at least gives you around one month to load it up, potentially with some friends who also have a PlayStation Plus subscription. HowLongToBeat reckons the main story plus extra stuff takes around 44 hours, so you’ve got just enough time to see it through to the very end if you feel up to the challenge.
Even if time runs out though, you can snag a digital copy for $24.99/£19.99 at full price or wait for it to go on sale. But why hang around though when you can play it now for no additional cost?
In addition to Risk of Rain 2 the following games will also say their farewells to Sony’s subscription service: Tropico 6 and Tropico 6 Next-Gen Edition, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Source of Madness, Cursed To Golf, Hundred Days, Onee Chanbara Origin, Get Even, Space Crew Legendary Edition, and Infinite Minigolf.
These were first confirmed on PlayStation Plus Japan. Regional line-ups may vary so do check your local PlayStation Plus hub.
