PlayStation Plus Latest Free Game Added To Library 'Way Too Quick'

It only landed in March of this year

PlayStation Plus’ newly revealed extra and premium tier games for September are a tad underwhelming, if you ask me.

From 16 September, extra tier subscribers can enjoy WWE 2K25, Persona 5 Tactica, Green Hell, Fate/Samurai Remnant, Crow Country, The Invincible, and Conscript.

The premium tier will then be gaining Legacy of Kain: Defiance.

It’s definitely a rather succinct month which makes you wonder whether Sony is hiding a day one launch up its sleeve as a surprise?

Maybe not. Maybe I’m giving PlayStation Plus too much credit.

I’ve heard good things about Crow Country, I will say that, so I’ll probably check it out.

The biggest talking point this month is seemingly WWE 2K25, but not because people are hyped.

Don’t get me wrong, some are excited about its arrival but fans are mainly remarking that it’s “way too quick” for the game to land on the service.

WWE 2K25 only launched on 14 March of this year, so you do have to wonder whether its inclusion on PlayStation Plus will hurt its sales.

“WWE 2K25 was way too quick,” wrote Reddit user kindaichiKun79.

“This is true. It's also probably the best wrestling game ever made so this is dope for people. I paid full price and absolutely got my money's worth. It's a fun enough fighting game even if you aren't familiar with the show. But if you love wrestling, especially old school wrestling, this game is going to check all the boxes for you,” added TheSpiralTap.

Personally, I’d say the sales will be fine. At this point, fans will have the game, with anyone who’s uncertain perhaps more likely to wait for WWE 2K26 which will undoubtedly arrive in early 2026.

As for how the rest of the line-up went down, well, okay.

“Crow Country and Conscript. This is a good month for horror fans,” remarked Zeckamaniac.

"It's so interesting how every month I find out about games I've never even heard of,” commented H3000, which is a nice way to think about things.

As a reminder, this month’s essential tier line-up is already available, consisting of Psychonauts 3, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder.

I heartily recommend all three. A fun platformer, an all-time great life sim, and a cosy indie … What's not to love?

That’s all until the next essential tier line-up drops at the end of the month.

We’ll be sure to bring that update to you as it happens.
