If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, then chances are high that you know all about PlayStation Stars, the reward scheme from Sony.

If, however, you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber and have no idea what I’m talking about, I can break it down for you, and tell you all about a new campaign that could lead to some free store credit.

Play Balatro this month and get some extra PlayStation points

Here’s the breakdown for you: Sony’s PlayStation Stars reward scheme allocates points to players for digital purchases, and these points can be redeemed for perks.

You might choose a digital trophy for your PlayStation app, but most opt for some free store credit.

5,000 points, for example, gets you £5/$5 to spend on the PSN store on a new game.

Another way to earn these points is through campaigns set by PlayStation, asking users to meet requirements for points.

The latest of these is titled ‘Your PlayStation Plus Monthly Games Await’ and can be accepted within the PlayStation app.

Once you’ve opted into the campaign, all you need to do is play one of this month’s free games as part of the subscription; Balatro, ARK: Survival Ascended, or Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

After you’ve played a little of one of these games, you’ll receive 50 points towards your ongoing total.

It’s a pretty simple way to gather points, and while it may not sound like a lot, these soon add up, and you’ll suddenly find you’ve got a few quid to put towards a new game.

You must accept the campaign before playing the game, though, otherwise it won’t count, and you’ll be left wondering where your points are.

While you’re in the PlayStation app, you can browse the other campaigns on offer, and see if there’s anything that lines up with the next game you’re thinking of buying or playing.
