PlayStation gamers trying to work out exactly what to play next should probably take note of a gorgeous adventure that flew under a lot of radars when it launched.

Not that we don't already have a huge amount to play, mind you. Between Atomfall and Assassin's Creed Shadows, we've been pretty spoiled this March.

But if you fancy something a little more on the fantastical side, how does a mix of Skyrim and Call Of Duty grab you? I'm talking, of course, about the EA-published and Ascendant Studios-developed Immortals Of Aveum.

Immortals Of Aveum didn't exactly set the world on fire when it launched, but it found a new audience when it joined PlayStation Plus as a free game last year.

"Wow, Immortals of Aveum is seriously underrated," one new fan raved on the PlayStation Plus subreddit. "It's actually a blast to play, it's a Medal Of Honor or Call Of Duty but with magic.

"The facial expressions in the cinematics are top notch and the graphics are stunning. It even gives off vibes similar to Thief. The story is decent too."

The general consensus seems to be that it's not the most memorable game, and that it takes far too long to get going, but those who stick with it are in for a good time.

That might be a lot to ask of gamers, who are already spoiled for choice, but if you're craving some fantasy action this could be the ticket.

While the time to grab Immortals via PS Plus has long passed, you can currently check out a free trial of the game. Better yet, if you like it it's currently massively discounted: you can grab it for just over a tenner.
