Depending on who you ask, each person will likely give you a different answer to what is the best video game of all time. In recent years we have been truly blessed with some classics in the modern era alone and one particular game is described as a ‘PS5 powerhouse’.

The video game in question is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from Marvel’s Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games, which initially released on the PlayStation 5 in 2021 before arriving on PC in 2023.

Check out the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart trailer below!

In our review of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, we said: “This is the sort of game that everyone can play and enjoy, and although it's a shooter through and through, it's not violently graphic and the storyline is lighthearted and easy to get along with. The world, characters, and gameplay are all gorgeous. It's maybe the most impressive game I have ever played. I look forward to the future of Ratchet and Clank and Rivet, and Insomniac's plans for the trio.”

With so many games available, it’s understandable why some will fly under the radar of many and I know there are likely plenty of great games that I have missed. Thankfully, one such game isn't Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but one Reddit user has recently discovered the joy of this beloved interdimensional adventure.

“I slept on Rift Apart because I had never played a single Ratchet and Clank game in my life….totally regretted not playing this game sooner. It’s a PS5 powerhouse experience,” said Reddit user its_xSKYxFOXx kicking off the discussion on the thread.

“Ratchet and Clank is one of my all-time favourite series and is the primary reason I bought a PS2 back in the day. If you can play some other entries in the series they're almost all great,” replied WayneBrody. “I need to go back and replay Rift Apart. I never completed my challenge mode playthrough.”

“That game made me into a Ratchet and Clank fan. I’m buying all of them after this one,” declared StrikingElk5288. “It’s so good, and it’s definitely not my usual type of game. I’m a JRPG gamer normally. It’s just so snappy and fun and beautiful to look at. The bit where you get your speedy boots is just amazing,” exclaimed Royal-Sprinkles1345. “10/10 game. The way the DualSense controller is utilised is incredible. It makes the game so much more immersive,” rejoiced DoubleOScarn.

Best of all, if you subscribe to either PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, you can play Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart at no extra cost right now. So what are you waiting for, go get your Gravity Boots already, the multiverse depends on it!
