Despite some subscribers complaining that PlayStation Plus’ monthly selection for October was just not spooky enough, one addition has cast those worries aside.

Sometimes there is nothing scarier than someone sobbing and that will definitely be the end result if you pick up this October PlayStation Plus offering.

Check out the launch trailer for Gris below!

Arriving alongside titles such as Dead Island 2 and Two Point Campus, this platform-adventure by Nómada Studio is at the top this month and is perfect for those searching for a gorgeous, heart-wrenching adventure.

First released in 2018, Gris is an atmospheric indie title which follows the story of a hopeful young girl lost in her own world.

After living through a painful experience, her journey of sorrow begins and is manifested in her dress which transforms to allow her to traverse a desolate world.

As she begins to heal, colour begins to reappear back in the world and better yet, she finds her voice once more.

Overall, Gris is a story about grief but is also a story about healing and is guaranteed to make any player emotional.

That is why PlayStation Plus subscribers have taken to r/playstation to discuss its addition to the service this month.

“If you have PS Extra, you need to play Gris,” one post read.

“I was just checking out new releases on PS Extra and Gris immediately grabbed my attention with its unique art style.

What I did not expect was the emotional journey I was just taken on without a word being uttered.”

What followed was heaps of praise for the 2018 title, with fans calling it “a gutpunch” and “unique”.

Not only that but this week saw Nómada Studio release their first new title since Gris.

Titled Neva, the story chronicles Alba, a young woman bound to a wolf pup after a traumatic encounter with dark forces.

Although the two games are not connected in any way, I am pretty sure that if you love one, you will love the other.
