Being a PlayStation Plus subscriber gives you the opportunity to access games at no extra cost each month.

However, when it does not include day-one releases, some of the titles added can be a few years old to give the game a chance to rack up those full-price sales.

Check out the launch trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard below!

That being said, when it comes to Dragon Age: Veilguard, it was recently added to the PlayStation Plus library only six months after it was first released.

Although this is good news for subscribers who can now dive into the RPG at no extra cost, it is a blow for BioWare as the latest instalment in the Dragon Age series can now truly be described as a flop.

Criticised for its terrible writing, unoriginal story, and just being a far cry from 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition, Veilguard did not perform well when it came to sales, hence it is now arriving in the PS Plus library.

However, with new players now experiencing the RPG for the first time, it may not actually be all that bad. At least according to one Reddit user over on r/PlayStationPlus.

“I can’t be the only one who’s really enjoying this game,” they shared.

“I can see it’s not worth full price for some people and the story and writing is average but not really super bad or cringey.

But the gameplay is super fun.

“TLDR; DA Veilguard is definitely fun. 40 hrs in the game and I am still having fun.

Don’t let the internet/YouTube stop you from playing this game. Have a go and see for yourself.”

It was not long before the comments started flooding in and, as you can expect, the post was met with a healthy debate.

“Based on all I’ve read about it I can understand non-DA fans enjoying it. But it sounds like a massive disappointment for DA fans whose expectations were not high to begin with,” one user commented.

Another said: “People don't like it because it stomps on what the original game was.

The OG Dragon Age is a grimdark fantasy, with a really dark premise and concept.

The game itself would have been rated better IF it wasn't called Dragon Age, but a new IP.”

However, for user StrokeMyDeath, they agree with the original poster.

“I really enjoyed it and got the Platinum on it. I also liked all the other ones. Guess I’m just a sucker for them.”
