PlayStation is issuing full refunds for a disastrous game launch, reminding many of us of Cyberpunk 2077.
Before its arrival in December 2020, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games ever.
However, to say that Cyberpunk 2077 launched in a mess would be an understatement, especially regarding the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. To be fair, not even high-end PCs were safe from this damning launch.
To the credit of CDPR, the studio worked tirelessly over the months and years ahead to deliver on the original promise of Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the best sci-fi RPGs that it could be, following its new-gen update in February 2022.

Sure, the game should never have launched in the state it did, but it’s fair to say that Cyberpunk 2077 is now a fantastic title, and then some. But, you may still want to avoid the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
That being said, there’s still too much water under the bridge for some fans of CDPR, and many will be hoping that history won't repeat itself when The Witcher 4 finally arrives.
Sadly, it seems that history is repeating itself, not with CDPR but with a new game from a new studio for something that may have been considered a GTA spiritual successor, of sorts.
That game is MindsEye, developed by Build a Rocket Boy, which has Leslie Benzies in charge, a main producer of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series, most recently, GTA V.

Just by doing a quick Google search, it won't take long to find embarrassing clips of glitches and performance issues for MindsEye. For some, the game is nearly unplayable, keeping in mind that this is a game that can cost £74.99 for a Deluxe Edition.
The release of MindsEye has been so bad that it looks like Sony is issuing refunds for purchases made via the PlayStation Store, no questions asked.
This is very reminiscent of when Sony issued mass refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 before the game was removed from the PlayStation Store, to later return in a much better state.
“This is great considering one of the studio’s CEO’s was just peddling conspiracy theories that people were being paid to talk bad about the game,” wrote Reddit user JozzyV1. “Then it comes out and is so bad and broken, Sony issues refunds.”

“Cyberpunk 2077 had plot and gameplay, alongside a dev team that cared,” said SilkyZ, “MindsEye seems to be a flavourless shovelware clone.”
“I didn't realise this was a Leslie Benzies game. The man who apparently pulled multiple GTA and Red Dead games from unplayable messes to launch in record time. It's wild he went from that to this,” exclaimed WhiteRun.
MindsEye is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, if you dare.
