Do you want a free game to play? Of course you do, to answer any other way would be incorrect. The folks at Sony have decided that we all deserve something new to play because the year isn’t busy enough with absolute bangers.

Coming 29 March, PlayStation owners will have the chance to play Stellar Blade, the upcoming action-adventure, for free. No subscription needed. How nice of them. If you’re hankering to try the game before its release next month, then this is the perfect opportunity.

Stellar Blade is coming to PlayStation 5 exclusively this April

Stellar Blade is coming to PlayStation 5 on 26 April and it’s shaping up to be another great exclusive for the console. According to Hyung Tae Kim, the game’s director, “The demo takes place from the very beginning of the game when Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad is sent to Earth on a mission to reclaim the planet from the Naytiba, up to the first boss fight. This first stage will include the tutorial phase to help you familiarize yourself with basic combat.”

On the announcement page, there’s a tease that players who complete the dem will receive a “little surprise” which is more incentive to get this demo downloaded on 29 March. You’ll be pleased to hear that your demo progress will carry over to the full game upon release, which will save you a couple of hours on launch day.

Stellar Blade is set to take us through remnants of Earth after it has been abandoned, meeting all kinds of people and engaging in blistering combat against strange and powerful creatures called the Naytiba. With its sci-fi edge, the style of Stellar Blade keeps it distinct from the pack. It’s not long now until players can fall in love with Eve, the game’s protagonist as she attempts to save the human race.
