PlayStation 5 gamers surprised with free download for massive new RPG

An upcoming and highly-anticipated RPG is already free to download right now and is set to take the end of 2024 by storm.

Set to fully release on 11 October, Metaphor: ReFantazio is an upcoming RPG developed by Studio Zero and published by Atlus.

Taking place in a unique fantasy world, we join the story as a throne sits empty after the king’s assassination.

With no heirs to his name, the late king decreed that his replacement would be chosen by the people and so a fight for the throne begins.

From the creators of the Persona franchise, Metaphor: ReFantazio will follow the story of your protagonist as well as their fairy companion, Gallica, as they attempt to lift a curse from the kingdom’s lost prince.

Similar to being able to summon a Persona, the protagonist in Metaphor: ReFantazio will be able to harness the power of a magical Archetype which will grant him the abilities from unique job classes.

Our very own Ewan Moore was lucky enough to preview Metaphor: ReFantazio and said “RIP to any free time I had left this year.” His review read:

Luckily for you, you will not have to wait until 11 October to dive in as a playable demo for Metaphor: ReFantazio is now available and free to download.

Giving players access to the first few hours of the game, this will be the perfect way to try before you buy and don’t worry, any saved progress will be carried over to the full game.

The Metaphor: ReFantazio demo is available on Steam, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
