For a limited time, you can claim free DLC on PlayStation without a PS Plus subscription for a fantastic game originally released in 2023.
Subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass offer a ton of games, free DLC and other perks. In most cases, it works out to be cheaper subscribing to either service rather than coughing up the cash for a full price game every month.
However, sometimes it’s nice to get freebie goodness without having to subscribe to either service on PlayStation and Xbox, such as this DLC you can claim today with no catch. Though you will need a copy of the game, of course.

The free DLC in question is ‘Casey Jones & the Junkyard Jam’ for the 2023 roguelike game from Super Evil Megacorp, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate.
In my review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, I said: “It's a blast the moment you fire up the game, and you’ll be a lean, mean fighting machine in no time.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate was originally released in 2023 on mobile devices and the following year on Nintendo Switch. But on 20 May this week, it finally arrived on PlayStation consoles.
“To celebrate the launch of Splintered Fate, we’re excited to announce a special offer: the Casey Jones DLC is free for PlayStation players for a limited time! But don’t wait too long -the offer ends on 3 June, so remember to add the DLC to your cart before it’s gone,” reads the description on the PlayStation Store.

Fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be very familiar with the vigilante and hockey fan Casey Jones, foe turned ally of the brotherly quartet.
The DLC not only includes Casey Jones as a new playable character with a new style of play as well as abilities, but also story missions, enemies and bosses.
The price of ‘Casey Jones & the Junkyard Jam’ sells for £5.59 on Steam, so I would assume that when the free promotion ends, the PlayStation DLC will likely be the same price.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate releases on Xbox next month on 24 June. Hopefully, the Xbox version will also come with this free DLC offer.
