A leaked PlayStation 6 release date has been slammed by fans, with many saying it's too soon for the console to arrive.
Sony hasn't officially announced the PlayStation 6 yet, but we all know it’s coming. For starters, there’s no way Sony won't release its next-gen console soon. Plus, the trademark for the PlayStation 6 (and more) has already been registered.
The PlayStation 5 released five years ago in 2020, that's half a decade, so surely the PS6 isn't too far away, right?

For example, the PlayStation 4 launched in 2013, and the PlayStation 5 launched seven years later. So in that respect, the PlayStation 6 could be two or three years away.
With that in mind, rumours are making the rounds that the PlayStation 6 is releasing in 2027 and not everyone is over the moon at that prospect.
According to a report by ComicBook, insiders claim that the console's design is now complete ahead of a potential 2027 launch.
Fans of the blue brand took to Reddit to discuss the possibility, with many concerned about PlayStation's slow rollout of first party titles.

“Imagine the PS6 launching in 2027 and those PS6 games would not only get PS5 versions, but also PS4 versions,” replied 5YearsOnEastCoast, suggesting a flurry of remasters and remakes.
“That’s way too early in my opinion, this gen feels like it needs another two years on top of that due to COVID, at least,” said Bluefootedtpeack2.
“This generation has really been a total wash, hardware-wise, and frankly, I don't see it ending with the next generation,” exclaimed timelordoftheimpala.
“Yeah....I'm good on the PS6. Unless my PS5 dies, or PS6 launches with a killer exclusive lineup (I doubt it). I’ve got no real reason to buy it on launch,” said LeonSigmaKennedy.
