A recent job offer may just hint at one of the many titles coming to the PlayStation 6 when it is inevitably released in the near future.
However, this choice has not been received well by fans and it is clear as to why.
This news comes after Cloud Imperium Games posted a job offer searching for a person with experience developing for “current and next-gen consoles”.

PlayStation 6 perhaps?
The job listing has since been taken down but the news was originally reported by AngieK22 over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.
If all of this is true, we could see Squadron 42, a single-player campaign for Star Citizen, get a PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 6 console port.
Star Citizen is a multiplayer, space trading and combat simulation game under development by Cloud Imperium Games and as of right now, it is only available on PC.

On the other hand, Squadron 42 is a crowdfunded single-player game developed by the team and will take place in the Star Citizen universe.
It is scheduled to be released some time in 2026 and will allow players to experience the massive-scale universe during a single-player campaign for the first time.
It was assumed that Squadron 42 would be a PC only release much like its base game but this news seems as though the Cloud Imperium Games title may be branching out.
As a result, fans descended to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Can't wait to play it on my Playstation 15,” one user joked.
Another user agreed, adding, ”Y'know I remember when they were bragging about how this game was going to be so advanced there's no way it could possibly run on current-gen consoles. 'Current-gen' at the time referring to the Xbox 360 and PS3.”
So it does sound pretty optimistic that it will be released on the PS6.
Either way, it remains to be seen where Squadron 42 will be released but let us hope it will be up to the task when it does.
