Starting from tomorrow, some PlayStation users will gain access to a brand-new feature centered around the PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller.

Revealed earlier today, Sony has announced a brand-new update coming to the PlayStation 5 and will first be accessible for beta participants.

“Many PS5 peripherals, including the DualSense wireless controller, are designed to support a variety of devices beyond PS5 including PC, Mac, and mobile devices,” Shuzo Kikuchi, VP of Product Management for Sony said in an official blog post.

“We believe enabling compatibility of our peripherals across multiple platforms creates a more flexible and seamless gaming experience.”

Arriving tomorrow but limited to invited participants in select countries, those eligible will be able to access the new feature which will allow DualSense wireless controllers and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to be paired across multiple devices simultaneously.

This will make switching between them a lot easier and without the need of pairing them each time.

Not only that but Sony will also be revealing new details on the Power Saver for games, a mode which will enable PS5 titles to run with a lower power consumption, making them a lot more environmentally friendly.

However this feature will be available at a later date.

Those eligible to try out this new update via the beta will be emailed tomorrow but if not, the rest of the PlayStation player base will gain access later this year.

Here is what Sony has to say about the new pairing feature:

“With this update, you can now register up to four devices simultaneously, and easily switch between them directly from your controller.

For example, you can take your controller which you use with your PS5, then seamlessly switch connection to a PC to play PC games, or connect it to a smartphone to enjoy Remote Play from your PS5.

With this enhanced flexibility, you can enjoy gaming more freely across multiple devices.”
