PlayStation has announced a new technical showcase airing tomorrow, 10 September, and it could be the PlayStation 5 Pro.

It’s a mythical thing that PlayStation 5 Pro, many have claimed to have insider knowledge on it, and there’s even been a drawing doing the rounds online of what it could look like, but we’re yet to see it with our own eyes.

That could change tomorrow though as a technical showcase presumably giving us a glimpse at upcoming PlayStation hardware is scheduled to go live.

Tune in tomorrow for a PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation hosted by Mark Cerny

The 9-minute stream begins September 10 at 8:00am PT / 4:00pm BST. Full details: https://t.co/VC31WS9VYd pic.twitter.com/qGUF0Yj9Ia

The livestream will begin at 4pm BST and go on for around 10 minutes, though its contents are a mystery at the moment.

In all likelihood it’s that pesky PlayStation 5 Pro announcement, and if that's the case the console will likely get a release date of sometime towards the end of the year.

Other possibilities include some sort of revision to the PlaYStation Portal handheld, a brand-new handheld system similar to the PlayStation Vita, or perhaps a new VR kit.

Of course there could also be some special edition consoles and controllers sprinkled in there too, but it's doubtful they'd be the main event of the presentation, it has to be something bigger.

According to source the PS5 Pro will be a monster compared to the base model, with its high-end specs at a fairly reasonable price-point only being possible thanks to it being digital only.

We don't know for sure if it will be digital only if or there'll be a disc variation, though there's a good chance if it's the former PlayStation will supply a disc drive separately like what's been done with the PS5 Slim.

There's still a lot we don't know about this mystery console, and hopefully we'll get some answers tomorrow during the showcase event.

If the PS5 Pro isn't there, I think we'll all collectively let out a big sigh, especially after all the hype its generated so far.
