Massive PlayStation 5 Pro specs leak is real, says industry expert

Massive PlayStation 5 Pro specs leak is real, says industry expert

The PlayStation 5 Pro rumours are true according to an industry expert

For months rumours of the PlayStation 5 Pro’s arrival have been running rampant across social media with no official word from Sony, at least not yet.

The closest we’ve had in terms of official news from Sony is the newly revised PlayStation 5 dubbed as the “slim” model as well as the handheld Portal device. However, that hasn't stopped apparent insiders from spreading the word about the yet-to-be-announced PlayStation 5 Pro.

Check out the trailer for the new PS5 console and Portal below!

Recently, the apparent specs for the PS5 Pro leaked (not for the first time) by an insider, and if true, the console is going to be an absolute beast. The PS5 Pro console that is said to have the codename “Trinity” will have an even faster SSD, an increased memory bandwidth, enhanced ray tracing implementation and more.

What’s more, specs for the next Xbox console have leaked from the same insider who provided the recent specs for the alleged PS5 Pro. Yet, as with any unconfirmed leaks and rumours, they should be taken with a pinch of salt until officially confirmed. That being said, an industry expert has claimed that the recent leaks are true when it comes to the PlayStation 5 Pro. The recent claim was made by video game journalist Jeff Grubb in the latest episode of his ‘Game Mess Decides’ podcast.

Jeff Grubb said that the recent PS5 Pro leak is “almost certainly real based on what I’ve heard” and threw his validation confirming it via his sources. He also claimed that the PS5 Pro will be released sometime in 2024.

Grubb also elaborated on the console's enhanced ray tracing capabilities by saying that it will have “two times hardware ray tracing acceleration” over the original model. I am a firm believer in there being no smoke without fire, so hopefully Sony will announce the new console at some point following the new year.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear further developments on the PlayStation 5 Pro and of course, the next Xbox console.
