A Reddit user has noticed a detail in The Last of Us Part I that you may not have noticed before and in its subtle way, it’s a cool little Easter egg.

When The Last of Us was first released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, it not only pushed this ageing console to its limits but also let the gaming community know that developer Naughty Dog was more than just the Crash Bandicoot and the Uncharted series. It was a new gritty direction for the studio which would later spawn a remake, remasters and a sequel.

Check out The Last of Us Part II Remastered trailer below!

The most recent release in the series is a PlayStation 5 remaster of the sequel which was released in January this year. In our review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, we said: “As a full package, there’s nothing else you could possibly want from The Last of Us Part II Remastered. We all thought Part II was Naughty Dog’s magnum opus but Part II Remastered shows that there’s plenty more gas in the tank.”

I am about to go into spoiler territory for The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II, so consider this to be your spoiler warning before you proceed to read ahead.

Without giving too much away, there’s a point in The Last of Us Part I when we see the town of Jackson, the home of Joel’s brother Tommy, and his wife, Maria. In the sequel, this becomes a home for Joel.

Well, as spotted by Reddit user Imactuallysoconfused, in The Last of Us Part I, you can see what will eventually become Joel's house in The Last of Us Part II. “Not super important but noticed you can see Joel's house in the first game,” they posted with a couple of comparison images.

Some fans on the Reddit thread have debated whether it is Joel's house seen in the first game and after close inspection, I believe that it is. I could very well be wrong but that’s my two cents anyway.
