Free PlayStation 5 console up for grabs in new giveaway

PlayStation fans are being given an amazing opportunity to win a very special PlayStation 5 console, and it’s worth a go.

I’m sure by now we’ve all seen the 30th anniversary edition of the PlayStation 5, which applies to both the PlayStation 5 Pro and PlayStation 5 Slim.

For a frankly insane price you can get a PS5 that’s modelled to look like the very first PlayStation console, with that pristine grey finish, multicoloured logo and an adorable controller to match.

I wasn’t bothered about the PlayStation 5 Pro as I’m happy with my base console, but even I was slightly tempted by the anniversary edition, like many other fans it seems as they quickly sold out online.

If you’re not fussed about the console but want the controller though, you can buy it separately but only while stocks last.

For those who missed out on getting a console for themselves, PlayStation is throwing you a bone with an exciting giveaway.

The competition was shared on X as part of the company’s birthday celebrations, and if you haven’t seen it yet I’d urge you to check it out.

This offer ends on 10 November, so you haven’t got long to get your entry sorted, fortunately it’s a quick and simple process.

All you need to do as PlayStation puts it, is “reply to this post with a photo of when you were gifted a PlayStation and tell us the story behind it. Christmas or birthday, from PS1 to PS5.”

Granted the entry requirements are quite niche, but if you have a photo from your youth or recent years of you getting a PlayStation for a special occasion, give this competition a go.

With how few units were made, this could be one of your last chances to get the special edition console before it’s gone for good.
