Bloodborne is an enigma.
Admittedly, it’s not a game that comes anywhere close to matching, say, Elden Ring’s sales, but it’s also not a cross-platform release.
The PlayStation exclusive has shifted 7.6 million copies, placing it as the 18th best selling game on the PS4, just behind Star Wars Battlefront and ahead of Days Gone, Death Stranding, and Until Dawn to name just a few.

Days Gone has been remastered, Until Dawn has undergone the remake treatment, while Death Stranding is set to launch its sequel this month.
When you picture it this way, it’s odd that Bloodborne hasn’t been touched at all.
No sequel, no expansion … not even a remaster.
At the very least, fans are yearning for a new-gen update, bringing 60fps capabilities to the game.

With Bloodborne’s 10th anniversary having passed unceremoniously earlier this year though, even that feels like something that’s incredibly unlikely.
Surely such an update would have dropped then?
That hasn’t stopped fans from making their wishes known.
“Give these games the 60fps treatment already,” wrote X/Twitter user AshenOneVI, featuring images of Bloodborne, Red Dead Redemption II, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Dishonored 2.

“Let us hope one day [it] will happen,” replied Gamerbb03, attaching a Bloodborne gif.
Bloodborne fans never appear to run out of that copium, huh?
Of course, the vast majority of the games mentioned in that tweet are available on PC where you can access higher frame rates.
Bloodborne is not though, officially anyway, although the lack of a PC port is another point of confusion.

It would, however, be nice for console gamers to be able to access 60fps.
I’ve got to be honest, I really can’t see such an update arriving for Bloodborne any time soon, if at all but my goodness, I’d love to be wrong.
