Skyrim Special Edition is 90% off on Steam for a limited time, its cheapest price ever
The Skyrim Special Edition on PC is currently the cheapest it’s ever been on Steam in a limited-time sale, with a whopping discount of 90%.
There’s no denying that Bethesda’s 2011 fantasy RPG Skyrim is one of the most popular games of all time. It’s been released on pretty much every console generation since, and fans can never seem to get enough of it. And who can blame them? It’s a timeless classic.
If you’ve somehow never owned Skyrim on PC, now could be the perfect time to pick it up on Steam, as it’s currently available at what looks to be its lowest-ever price on the storefront.
Skyrim Special Edition has never been cheaper, but don't wait too long!
Right now, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is at its cheapest-ever price on the Steam Store, according to SteamDB in the US and UK.
Typically, Skyrim Special Edition would cost $39.99/£34.99, but with its whopping 90% discount, the price has been brought down to just $3.99/£3.49. However, this discount comes to an end on October 8, 2026, so you might not want to wait around forever.
What’s different about Skyrim Special Edition?
This version of Skyrim was released in October 2016 (so it’s basically a 10th anniversary discount) and has remastered visuals, lighting, shadows, improved depth of field, performance and more.

It also comes bundled with the three expansions, Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. What’s more, for the console version of the game, it introduced mods for the very first time, something that was only available on PC.
Is Skyrim Special Edition on sale on other platforms?
Yes, it is. But sadly, it’s not discounted on all platforms right now, and it’s not as cheap. On the Xbox Marketplace, Skyrim Special Edition costs $9.99/£8.74, instead of $39.99/£34.99. The PlayStation Store is also selling it for $9.99/£8.74, instead of $39.99/£34.99. As for the Nintendo eShop, there is no discount at the time of writing.
