GTA 6 move over, this Red Dead Revolver Unreal Engine 5 remake trailer is stunning

A Red Dead Revolver remake could be truly special if this fan-made trailer is anything to go by.

There’s an immense amount of hype for Grand Theft Auto VI, and understandably so. This game has quite literally been a decade in the making. As exciting as it is to theorise about what Lucia and Jason’s tale has in store for us though, it’s also fun to think about what Rockstar Games might be working on beyond GTA VI.

Fair to say, many of us would love to see the studio revisit the Red Dead franchise, whether that be in the form of a spin-off, prequel, or sequel. It still feels as if there’s more story to tell - and let’s face it, this rootin’ tootin’ franchise is far too wildly successful to leave on the backburner. There’s no official news at the present moment, but there are a number of exciting fan projects we can turn our attention to amidst this Red Dead drought. One of those is a stunning concept trailer showcasing what an Unreal Engine 5 remake of Red Dead Revolver could look like.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

This project is the work of popular YouTube account TeaserPlay. “We realised this fan dream in Unreal Engine 5,” the team wrote. “[This] recreation of Red Dead Revolver, [a] nostalgic game, [was made in] in Unreal Engine 5 with high-end graphics features such as Lumen, Nanite, Screen Space Ray Tracing and Global Illumination Shader. We hope that Rockstar will officially remake Red Dead Revolver soon and we really hope that this video will be able to clear the level of expectations of the fans for Rockstar Games.”

The end result is very impressive, with plenty of fans sharing their adoration of the project. “Red Dead Revolver was underrated even if it had no open world and I really hope one day it gets a remake,” wrote one viewer, while another added, “You're breaking my heart showing what will never be. Looks amazing!” One comment read, “This definitely needs to be done. It looks so good.”

Will it ever happen? Well, I wish I could say. Rockstar Games opted for a Red Dead Redemption remaster over a remake which doesn’t bode very well for the possibility of a Red Dead Revolver remake. Then again, stranger things have happened.
