Rockstar Games is set to have a major year. Yes, we can finally say it.

Grand Theft Auto VI is coming this year. Cue excited screams.

Although maybe not from me … sorry. Listen, GTA VI looks phenomenal but Red Dead has always been far more up my street so naturally, I’m eager for that particular franchise to return.

And that may happen one day, but it’s certainly not going to happen while Rockstar Games is focused on GTA VI.

There’s likely still plenty of work to be done before launch day this fall, and that’s only the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.

Assumedly, although unconfirmed, a PC port will be in the works to drop beyond that.

And let’s not forget that a GTA Online successor is likely to be on the way too, so lord knows when Rockstar Games will be able to come up for air.

It’s with that in mind that Red Dead Redemption 3 feels like a distant dream.

Thankfully, PC fans can, in the meantime, expand Red Dead Redemption 2 with fan-made quest expansion ‘The Bank Wagon Heist’.

When is Rockstar finally going to drop a second trailer for GTA VI?

‘The Bank Wagon Heist’ was created by NexusMods user CruelMasterMC and admittedly, did launch last year but I do so hate the thought of this one passing you by.

Essentially, the mod sees you prepare to rob a Bank Stage before you actually carry out that plan, consisting of “three preps and a finale”.

The first prep is known as the ‘Wagon Route’. That’ll be followed by the ‘Fake Drivers & Wagon’ prep and the ‘Explosives’ preparatory mission.

The mod concludes with the titular ‘The Bank Wagon Heist’ and while the contents of each mission is detailed on the mod’s NexusMods page, I won’t be detailing it here for spoilers sake.

What I can tell you is that ‘The Bank Wagon Heist’ is compatible with the ‘Life of Crime 2.0.2’, another one of CruelMasterMC’s works - and a popular one at that.

‘Life of Crime’ rids the game of its storyline, essentially.

Instead of playing as Arthur, you’ll create your own rogue anti-hero, writing your own story in Red Dead Redemption 2’s enormous sandbox world.

Both mods are available to download now if you’re running Red Dead Redemption 2 on a PC.
