Commander Shepard sacrificed so much, yet their efforts, while much appreciated by all those saved, still didn’t give fans the satisfying ending they wanted.

Although the canon ending of Mass Effect 3 has divided fans, even if you go against the grain and pick one of the other outcomes, there’s still a harsh finality to it.

Shepard gets the rough end of the deal every time.

Where will the next Mass Effect take us?

Fortunately, that doesn’t have to remain the case after Mass Effect 3 gives Shepard the ending they deserve.

‘Citadel Epilogue Mod’ for the legendary edition of the game is available on NexusMods for free.

“The premise of this mod is that you get to play Citadel DLC after the ending, provided the destroy ending is chosen or AHEM [Audemus' Happy Ending Mod] is installed.

All mentions of the war and the Reapers have been removed, meaning the Citadel DLC can serve as an epilogue for Shepard's story,” shared NiklausShepard on Reddit.

This isn’t a new mod and so plenty of BioWare fans have already played this final ending.

“My personal headcannon turned into a mod. Thank you,” posted Millky95.

Redditor After_Reality_4175 said, “That’s beautiful, the ending shepherd deserved.”

Fans are pretty much united in thinking this is how Shepard’s story should have ended. However, not all of them can play the epilogue mod.

Unless you’re a PC gamer, we’re afraid you’ll have to read the highlights and watch Shepard’s happy ending unfold at a distance.

With the conclusion of one story, another is only just beginning; and with it comes a new mystery for fans to try and solve.

The mysterious, unknown character in the Mass Effect 5 teaser has us curious about whether it’ll be a returning fan favourite, or someone new.

But before we come close to solving that, BioWare’s new Dragon Age title will launch first.

It's quite busy for BioWare fans at the moment.
