One of the best video games of all time is currently free to download and keep, with no need for any kind of subscription. I urge you to go check it out immediately.

I wouldn't be at all shocked if most of you were either continuing on with Baldur's Gate 3 or getting ready to dance the weekend away with Starfield. But if neither of those titles quite float your boat for whatever reason, there's a new free game on PC that I do believe everyone should play.

Speaking of Starfield, take a look at our review below!

From now until 9 September you can get your hands on the indie gem Cave Story+ for the low price of nothing at all. For the uninitiated, Cave Story Plus is a 2011 metroidvania, and really one of the first "modern" games to serve as a love letter to the 16-bit era. It's a tradition that has been carried on by absolute bangers like Dead Cells, Chained Echoes, and most recently, Sea Of Stars.

The official Steam synopsis teases: "Run, jump, shoot, fly and explore your way through a massive action-adventure reminiscent of classic 8- and 16-bit games."

Cave Story+ has a 9/10 on Steam, and is widely regarded as a classic adventure. Seriously, if it's free you really should check it out. All you need to do is head over to the Epic Games Store and create an account (if you don't already have one). I'd imagine even the most potato of potato PCs can probably run Cave Story+ by now too, so you really should get on it.

If you don't fancy Cave Story+, Epic Games drops new free titles to download every week. So simply check back here in a few days and we'll see what we can rustle up for you next. Cool? Cool.
