One modder is creating a new Crimson Desert offering that dynamically changes the four seasons, with the hope that it will be released in time for the upcoming DLC.
Already, 2026 has been a blessed year for gamers, with plenty of amazing games across multiple genres. One genre thatâs been particularly blessed is open-world fantasy RPGs, with Pearl Abyssâ Crimson Desert leading the charge.
From the studio behind Black Desert, Crimson Desert is set in the war-torn Pywel and follows mercenary leader Kliff as he fights to survive this ruthless world. With fast-paced combat, a sense of adventure, quests, levelling mechanics and more, itâs easy to see why many consider Crimson Desert a standout Game of the Year 2026 contender.
However, as fantastic a game Crimson Desert is, much like everything else in this industry, itâs not quite perfect, and there is always room for improvement. This is where the talents of modder Siraquilon come into play.
Crimson Desert dynamic seasons mod is now in development
âHello, Character Creator mod author here. If anyone is interested, I've been working on a seasons mod; hopefully I'll be able to finish it by the time the DLC releases,â announced Siraquilon on Reddit, sharing two screenshots of Pywel looking rather stunning in the snow.

No further details were provided in the post, but presumably, the dynamic seasons mod would add the rain and blossoming nature of spring, the hot, sunny days of summer, the orange of autumn, as well as the cold and snow of winter.
Does Crimson Desert have a dynamic weather system?
Kind of. The weather in Crimson Desert is more regional. It does feature rain, blizzards, fog, sandstorms, and whatnot, but it does not currently have a traditional four-season cycle.
So, considering Crimson Desert has no official dynamic four-season weather system, this mod would certainly add even more value to the game.
âPearl Abyss needs to add this,â declared Base004, with need-help-guys adding, âThey showed off the tech a very long time ago, back in 2021. If they didn't add it officially now, there is likely a pragmatic reason. This is one of those things I would absolutely love.â
âDude, you just keep making the mods. One of the things this game needs is some seasons; thanks for making it happen!â said Iron_Traveller.
âPearl Abyss needs to hire you, bro,â suggested Tareeky.

Crimson Desert DLC delayed
Siraquilon had hoped that his four-season mod would be ready in time for the first DLC, Crimson Desert: Charting The Unknown, which was scheduled to be released on October 15, 2026.
However, Pearly Abyss recently announced that Crimson Desert: Charting The Unknown has been delayed to allow a little more development time.
While this may be disappointing news for fans, it could work out quite well for the four-season mod, because it also allows its creator to have a little more development time.
Finally, just to be clear, as with most mods and especially for Crimson Desert, they are exclusive to the PC version of the game.
Crimson Desert is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
