A rather juicy Nintendo Switch 2 leak has revealed that several big Nintendo games will reportedly be getting next-gen updates at some point in 2026, but the leaker in question also teased that two of the biggest The Legend of Zelda games may also finally be getting the love they deserve in the near future…

Nintendo may truly be the worst of the big three at keeping secrets, because they just accidentally confirmed that one of the best Nintendo games ever made will finally be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 update.

As spotted by Gematsu earlier this week, the PEGI listing for Pikmin 3 Deluxe, the Nintendo Switch port of the 2013 WiiU release of Pikmin 3, has just been updated, and it now states that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is on its way.

That’s not the juicy bit, however. A leaker by the name of Nash Weedle followed up on the story with a scoop of their own, as they’ve stated that a bunch of Nintendo Switch titles will be getting Nintendo Switch 2 updates down the line.

According to Nash, these include Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Metroid Prime Remastered, Mario Strikers, Astral Chain, Yoshi's Crafted World, Princess Peach: Showtime! and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Now, it should be stated that, apparently, Nash Weedle’s batting average with leaks isn’t the best, so take this all with a grain of salt.

We May Revisit Two Classic Zelda Entries

However, if it is true, I’m just glad that Nintendo is finally getting around to dropping a Nintendo Switch 2 update for Astral Chain, because that game absolutely slaps, and I was starting to think that they’d forgotten it existed.

In a reply to his initial leak, Nash Weedle was asked if Nintendo were planning to potentially re-release the WiiU ports of both The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

While he didn’t have anything concrete to offer, Nash did state that Nintendo would surely “take those games into consideration” at some point in the future.

Personally, I have no idea why Nintendo wouldn’t port the WiiU versions of both games to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, because that just feels like they’re leaving easy money on the table.

Hopefully, we do end up getting the HD WiiU versions of the games, instead of the OG Gamecube versions on the Nintendo Switch Online service, but I wouldn’t put it past Nintendo to opt for the easier route instead.
