Pokémon Black and White remake leaves fans divided

Pokémon Black and White remake leaves fans divided

Settle down, it's a long wait

Following on from the remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl back in 2021, fans have been discussing which game should be next to receive an update.

However, despite many Pokémon fans thinking that the logical step would be Pokémon Black and White, others think this is being a bit too optimistic.

The last time that we saw a major remake was back in 2021 when Gen 4’s Pokémon Diamond and Pearl became Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.

So it is perhaps no surprise that, by following the Pokémon series chronologically, Pokémon Black and White would be next.

However, according to Reddit user Boring_Manufacturer over on r/pokemon, we might not see a Black and White remake until at least 2028.

“So after BDSP (Gen 4 Remakes) came out back in 2021, the next logical step for remakes is the Black and White versions in the future, obviously,” they explained in a recent post.

“Before the last Pokémon Presents, I heard a lot of people on social media talk about how these Black/White remakes would be announced and released this year for some reason (it didn't btw) and at first, I agreed and was on board for it, but I didn't "feel right" and felt too soon to me personally.”

However, the user goes on to explain how they believe that the Black and White remake won’t launch until after the Gen 10 games.

This would take it up to Holiday 2026.

“So most likely Holiday 2028**,** due to the pattern of releasing remakes on an even numbered generation between 5-7 years from each other. So what 4 more years of waiting, right?” They concluded.

The comments were soon filled with fans placing their own bets on when we can expect the highly-anticipated remake.

However, one fan came up with a useful way of continuing the series.

“I would love for them to make it Genshin style, starting with Gen 1 and then add on the additional storyline and games into the existing world until we end up with a Pokémon universe with all the games in one.”
