Nintendo teases Switch 2 Zelda game we're all waiting for

We've had one Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 game, yes, but what about second Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 game?

One reporter has grilled Nintendo’s senior VP of product development about the potential release of one very specific The Legend of Zelda game on the Nintendo Switch 2, and they were candidly open about its chances of landing on the system.

Thank you in advance to Video Games Chronicles' Chris Scullion for their original report!

Great news! The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Bad news! It’s the original GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and not the HD version of the game that was released on the Wii U.

Thankfully, Tim Gettys revealed on the Kinda Funny Games Daily podcast that he directly asked Nate Bihldorff, Nintendo of America's senior VP of product development, if there was a chance we might still see the HD Wii U version of the game on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.

Take a look at the Switch 2 in action.

“I also got to sit down with Nate… and got to ask a whole bunch of questions, and in typical Nintendo fashion we didn’t get too many answers,“ Getty revealed.

“But I did ask if having The Wind Waker on Nintendo Switch Online precludes it from the Switch 2 getting the actual Wii U port at some point, and he was very quick to say, ‘No, all options are on the table’.”

This is great news for those of us who never actually owned a Wii U, because The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD only saw release on that console.

It still goes for around £40 second-hand too, so if you factor in the price of buying a Wii U as well… you’re probably looking at around £120-ish.

Here’s hoping this works its way up the chain at Nintendo, because I wouldn’t mind trying this one out on that fancy VRR screen someday.
