Hello there, Nintendo Switch owner, do you want to play a new upcoming game via a free demo? Of course, you do, don’t deny it.

This is your lucky day, there’s a demo available for the game Star Overdrive, and you can grab the demo from the Nintendo Switch eShop, right now.

Star Overdrive looks like riotously good fun for Nintendo Switch.

Star Overdrive is up for preorder now, and once you’ve given this demo a try, you might very well want to take advantage of the little discount available on the eShop.

After watching the trailer for this one, it looks like it will be bags of fun, with a hero who surfs everywhere on a hoverboard.

According to the store page, the game is described by the developers as a “survival against the odds”.

“Join Bios stranded on a distant alien planet with his hoverboard, solve creative puzzles, and fight formidable foes in his quest to reunite with his beloved,” notes the synopsis.

In what other game can you destroy enemies by playing a keytar? Probably not many, which is why we should all be looking forward to Star Overdrive.

Imagine busting out your keytar, taking a dominant stance, and blasting out a jaunty tune that decimates the beasties in the area.

Aura-farming, am I right? Am I using that phrase correctly?

Back to the game. In between the battles and surfing everywhere on a sick hoverboard, players will tackle puzzles and follow along with a mysterious quest.

According to the developers, players will “crash land on an epic journey across a vast, abandoned alien planet! Uncover its secrets as you face relentless enemies, tackle formidable challenges, and navigate through constant danger”.

Sounds dope, I’ll be keeping an eye on this one, and so should you.

Star Overdrive launches on 10 April 2025, and will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
