As with every other subscription service, it can be a gamble to keep your membership going but this latest Nintendo Switch addition may just convince you otherwise.
Nintendo Switch Online gives you access to plenty of features on both your Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. This includes: online multiplayer, cloud save, access to classic NES/SNES titles, special offers and more.
However, if you do not play online games and Nintendo does not offer any classic titles that you are interested in, keeping up your membership may start to cost more than its worth.
That being said, I am sure that this is not the case this month thanks to a recent announcement by Nintendo itself.
Advert
That is because Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack members can now dive into two classic Nintendo 64 titles: Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Tonic Trouble.
Available from 17 December onwards, the announcement was shared on Twitter alongside a trailer showcasing the two games in question but if you are unfamiliar with them, let us quickly discuss them.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape was first released way back in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, PC, Dreamcast and PlayStation.
Centered on the iconic character of Rayman, the story follows him as he embarks on an adventure to save the fantastical land of the Fairy Glade from an army of robotic pirates led by Admiral Razorbeard.
Meeting critical acclaim, Rayman 2: The Great Escape received both an enhanced port and alternate remake in later years but for fans who want to check it out in its original glory, it is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

But That's Not All
Additionally, Tonic Trouble is another 1999 title which follows the story of janitor Ed who, after dropping a container of unidentifiable fluid from his spaceship to Earth, sees the planet transform into a mutated version of itself.
As a result, Ed has to solve puzzles and defeat enemies in order to acquire the tools to conquer Grögh and acquire the antidote.
Also released on the Nintendo 64 and PC, it was later brought to the Game Boy Colour and now it is available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack for Nintendo Classics on the Switch.
So if you are in the mood for some classics, then get ready to experience some Nintendo 64 nostalgia with these two classic gems.
