Several Nintendo freebies are returning to the Nintendo Switch over the next few days, but you’ll have to be quick about claiming them– as once they’re gone, they’ll disappear forever.

Huge thank you in advance to the NSO Icon Alerts Twitter account for compiling all of the info regarding this one!

In a rare move from Nintendo, some of the NSO Icons will be returning to the Nintendo Switch over the next few days.

These usually never pop back up once they leave the Nintendo storefront, so you’ll definitely want to snag some of these if you missed them before because they definitely won’t return again.

The “2024 Rerun Marathon” features NSO Icons from Forever Blue Luminous, Mario vs Donkey Kong, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Paper Mario RPG, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and more.

By the sounds of things, only a few icons from each game will be returning, so you best hope the ones you missed out on will be featured (because you’ve got no other way of claiming them otherwise).

Unlike other NSO Icon releases, it doesn’t seem that you’ll actually need any of the games to claim any of these ones either.

The returning NSO Icons will be coming in blocks of 48 hour-long waves over the next couple of weeks, so you’ll have to repeatedly check the store every couple of days to see which ones will be available.

There’s been well over a thousand of these released at this point, and one Reddit user even tried to collate exactly how many of them have been featured a while back.

There are well over 2,000 NSO Icons in the library now, and I’d be genuinely shocked if anyone has actually managed to collect every single one of these since the Nintendo Switch released.

Shocked and somewhat concerned perhaps.
