If you want a cosy game to get stuck into this weekend whilst you hide from the November chill, then this free Nintendo Switch download is the one for you.

This fantasy adventure is reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda but with a beautiful Studio Ghibli aesthetic and better yet, it is free to try right now.

Check out the most recent entry in The Legend of Zelda series below!

So if you have a Nintendo Switch and a few hours to spare, then check out Mika and the Witch’s Mountain.

For those who have not yet heard of this underrated indie title, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is a fantasy adventure that follows an aspiring witch who must deliver packages to the townspeople of her island.

“Explore every cranny and soar through the sky with your magic broom,” the official synopsis reads.

The coming-of-age tale will take this aspiring witch to the very top of the mountain through a story of effort, friendship and community.

However, there is more to this island than delivering packages as our witch can take to the skies and discover all the secrets hidden throughout the land.

If you work hard enough, you may be able to buy a better broom which can unlock places you never would have reached before.

Mika will get to experience the Studio Ghibli-esque landscapes of Mont Gaun as she explores the mini open-world and those with an eye for fashion are also in luck as you can dress the little witch in a variety of different outfits.

Our very own Ewan Moore was lucky enough to review Mika and the Witch’s Mountain back in August and called it “relaxing” and “stunning to look at”.

“Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is as short as it is sweet, and while it might not be the most stunningly original or captivating game released this year, it has so much heart that it’s impossible not to lose yourself in its charming world and cast of characters.”

Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is now free to try out on Nintendo Switch so don’t miss out if this sounds like your thing.
