If you want to check out a fun-looking and upcoming platforming game that has Super Mario Odyssey vibes on the Nintendo Switch, then you’re in the right place.

We've all spent our hard-earned cash on a game that we’ve been looking forward to for months, only for it to be absolute pants. This is why free playable demos are so helpful because they can drastically reduce the chances of us throwing our money away.

Check out The Smurfs: Dreams trailer below!

One such game is The Smurfs: Dreams which is set to be released later this month and to my surprise, this game looks like it could be half-decent. Though I’d be shocked if it won any Game of the Year awards, but weirder things have happened, probably.

“Embark on a dreamlike quest to awaken all the Smurfs before the evil Gargamel reaches the village! Experience a thrilling yet unpredictable journey: in the dream world, anything is possible and excitement can quickly turn into a nightmare,” reads the synopsis of The Smurfs: Dreams.

“Alone or with a friend, discover enchanting locations and explore the dreams of your favourite Smurfs. Each dream is a unique adventure, with smurfingly exciting challenges and mind-boggling puzzles. Imagination comes to life in this fully immersive and magical 3D platformer.”

The Smurfs: Dreams also has character customisation, so if it's been a life-long ambition of yours to customise a Smurf, then this is proof that dreams really can come true.

Right now, if you want to find out whether The Smurfs: Dreams is as fun as it looks, you can play its free demo on Nintendo Switch with no online subscription needed. What’s more, the demo is also available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The Smurfs: Dreams will be released on 24 October.
