Nintendo Switch gamers can download and play this fun-looking platform shooter today for free. Happy days!

With all the value offered by PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, sometimes it can be easy to forget that the Nintendo Switch Online service also offers some fantastic freebies for subscribers, such as the game that is the topic of this article.

Check out the Iconoclasts trailer below!

Depending on the tier that you subscribe to, Nintendo Switch Online offers a plethora of fantastic retro titles from the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64. You even get a selection of SEGA Mega Drive games as well as expansions for the likes of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3.

However, you also gain access to select trials, such as the indie platform shooter developed by Konjak, called Iconoclasts.

Originally released in 2018, Iconoclasts has a reasonable full RRP of £17.99 (cheaper on other platforms) but it’s always a bonus if we can try it before parting with our money.

“Join renegade mechanic Robin and uncover the secrets of a dying planet. Explore a big world filled with intricate puzzles, interesting characters and menacing bosses in a beautiful platform adventure that tells a personal story about faith, purpose and the challenge of helping people,” reads the synopsis of Iconoclasts.

“The game looks good, maybe I'll try it out,” said AncroAnnaki, replying to a tweet from Nintendo. Though to be fair, much of this thread was full of understandably impatient fans calling for the announcement of the Switch 2.

During the free trial, you will have full access to Iconoclasts, however, it’s unlikely you’ll get anywhere near finishing its estimated 11 to 16-hour campaign. But you can try.

Iconoclasts is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
