We all know the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming, likely in 2025. And we all know it’s going to be called the Switch 2, unless Nintendo has something up its sleeve.

This obvious detail is seen by some fans as so blatant that any ‘leak’ that points out the name of the Nintendo console is instantly ridiculed.

This can be clearly seen over on Reddit, after a user reported that an industry leaker “claims the console is called Switch 2 and has a big number 2 on it.”

The top comment under the post says simply, “I'm going insane,” to illustrate just how ludicrous these ‘leaked’ claims are becoming.

“Switch tuah,” jokes another user, which genuinely made me choke on my own breath as I laughed.

The jokes kept coming, with wanswanswans saying, “2 switch 2 furious.”

Apparently, there was a rumour that the sequel console would have been called “Super Nintendo Switch” which is honestly laughable.

“So glad we can leave the "They should call it the Super Switch!" guys behind in the 90s where they belong,” said DemonLordDiablos.

I honestly now hope that Nintendo uses that name just to troll people, though let’s be honest, after the whole ‘WiiU’ debacle the Japanese developer will want to cut down on confusion as much as possible.

“It's better than "New Nintendo Switch" would be,” comments EvenSpoonier.

Was that even a viable option?

At this point, we just need Nintendo to come out swinging in 2025 and announce a Direct to show the damn console.

Then we can put all these Reddit threads to bed and start looking forward to (and saving for) the console.

As one fan says, “Man I just don’t care about the console or its appearance at all at this point, I’m just tryna get a peek at the new launch titles…”
