With the Nintendo Switch 2 coming later this year, fans are now wondering what the launch line-up of games will contain.
There is one sequel that we’ve all been waiting for, and it’s highly likely it will drop for the Nintendo Switch 2 on day one, if not, in the opening months of the console’s release.
Will Metroid Prime 4: Beyond release alongside the Switch 2?
It has been many months since the announcement of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and it seems the perfect release for the new console.
When the original Switch released, following on from the WiiU, Nintendo launched The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild across both platforms, and this is something we could see here.

Fans over on Reddit seem to think so, with one saying, “It could be a cross-gen title, it's quite likely.”
This is pretty much the thinking across the board, with more fans thinking we’ll get a Switch version, then a more optimised iteration for the new console.
“A hybrid release with the new console version having better performance and maybe better visuals,” this seems a guarantee, as mentioned by Mega_Mango.
Others are sure that it will only be a Switch game - but this will, of course, be playable on the Switch 2.

“It's a Switch 1 game. The Switch 2 is backwards compatible. There's no need for a Switch 2 version,” comments DefiantCharacter.
It’s hard to imagine there wouldn’t be an update of some kind to improve the visuals and load times, as it would showcase the new Nintendo hardware.
Until Nintendo delivers the software showcase, we’ll only be guessing at what could accompany the console to market.
Another Redditor is setting their hopes a little lower, saying, “As for if it's a launch title, I really hope so. I do expect it to be cross-gen, but I'm expecting that it'll be coming out at least a couple of months after Switch 2. Hoping to be proven wrong, though.”
