Controversy surrounding the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 and more importantly, its games, has been the talk of the town since the Nintendo Direct aired last week.

However, in some good news, it seems as though a highly-anticipated release for the Nintendo Switch 2 will not break the bank as much as some of the newer titles arriving to the handheld.

Learn more about the Nintendo Switch 2 below!

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct showcase, it was revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would both be rereleased for the successor handheld.

The enhanced versions will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year and now we have received the price we can expect to pay for the upgrades.

In an interview with IGN, Nintendo of America's Vice President of Product and Player Experience Bill Trinen spoke about the company’s pricing strategies for the Switch 2 and talk soon turned to Zelda in particular.

"For somebody who has bought Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs for those are $9.99,” Trinen explained.

“And if you happen to be a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member, both of the Zelda upgrade packs are inclusive within that membership. So there is no additional charge for those."

Considering the price of some of the titles arriving to the Nintendo Switch 2, $10 is reasonable to say the least and it is even better news for those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online.

What the news has not confirmed, however, is if all the upcoming upgrades will come under that $10 price tag or if the price will fluctuate depending on any extras that are included.

Alongside enhanced graphics, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will feature improved load times, HDR support, and the previous achievements with some added extras.
