There are two major negatives that come with yet another Grand Theft Auto VI delay: having to wait even longer for the most anticipated game of all time and having to deal with even more insider leaks and rumours.
With Rockstar Games being a studio that keeps its cards close to its chest, the run-up to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI is like a playground for insiders and leakers.
Now with just under a year to go until we can get our hands on the next Grand Theft Auto entry, those leaks are in full force once more.
While we already know that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S before eventually receiving a PC port, there has been no news of a potential Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Well, until now.

According to Spanish insider Nash Weedle, Grand Theft Auto VI will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 port.
In a since deleted Tweet, the insider had the following to say: “I can confirm that a GTA VI port for Switch 2 is in the works.
“I haven't said much about it; I had to be cautious until now. I can also add that the game's delay isn't due to this version.
"It doesn't appear to be a launch title.”
Another insider has weighed in
Nash Weedle did not provide a legitimate source to this claim but it seems as though fellow insider NateTheHate has also released a statement based on the rumour.
“I said a while ago that Rockstar was doing tests to bring it to Switch 2; but tests don’t always equal release,” they shared.
“I know an effort has been made to see if they can bring it to the platform. I don’t know the current state of that effort”.
As you can imagine, this rumour has been met with mixed opinions by fans with many believing that there is no way that GTA VI will be able to run on Nintendo’s latest handheld.
However, others are feeling a little more hopeful.
“This is completely false and doesn't even need to be addressed,” one comment over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours read.
“The raw specs at hand here make a simulation the size of GTA completely unrealistic on the Switch 2. The only - only - mechanism to get this game running on the Switch 2 is cloud streaming.
While I have no doubts that technology tests were conducted and exploratory work happened, GTA VI will never release on the Switch 2 in native form. You can take that to the bank.”
However, another user added, “I mean, GTA V is one of the best selling, most lucrative games ever made. And the Switch is close to the best selling console of all time, the Switch 2 one of the fastest selling consoles ever…
“Depending on how GTA VI runs technically on PS5 I'm curious to see if it's even possible for Switch 2.”
As always, it is worth taking this rumour with a huge pinch of salt unless otherwise confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
However, it would definitely be interesting to see the biggest game of all time run on a Nintendo handheld…
