You’ll soon be able to buy an adorable LEGO version of Shadow The Hedgehog, I need it and so do you.

The time of LEGO sets based on video games is finally upon us, with the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Mario and even The Legend Of Zelda all getting adorable bick-based forms.

We spoke to Takashi Iizuka about the Sonic X Shadow Generations, check it out below

While I loved having LEGO Star Wars and Indiana Jones sets as a kid, I think I would have gotten far more into the hobby if video game companies had partnered up with the LEGO brand sooner.

Though now I’m an adult and can make my own bad financial decisions, one of which being a LEGO version of Shadow The Hedgehog.

The 720 piece set is a 3D model of Shadow’s head, which is meant to be based on his original appearance in Sonic Adventure 2 for the Sega Dreamcast, though his design has hardly changed over the years.

You’ll build the head and put it on a little display stand, and the set also comes with some gold rings and a chaos emerald, both items synonymous with Shadow.

The set will release on 1 October, not far off from Sonic X Shadow Generation’s release date, and will set you back $70, so it’s pretty pricy.

That being said, it's a collector's item and it'll look fantastic on your shelf, or at least that's what I'm telling myself to justify buying it.

If that’s a little rich for your blood but you still fancy adding a Sonic The Hedgehog LEGO set to your collection, you can grab some smaller, cheaper sets that actually include minifigures, and one even includes Shadow’s motorcycle from his spin-off game.

It’s the Year Of Shadow The Hedgehog people, so expect plenty more merch, appearances and announcements for Sega’s favourite anti-hero.
