GTA 6 fans divided over Rockstar's next game

The answer is pretty obvious though right?

It’s 2025, the year GTA VI will finally be released, but fans are talking about what game will be released afterwards for some reason?..

I’m all for looking towards the future but it’s taken years for Rockstar Games to get GTA VI ready for the public, and with gaming hardware even more advanced than it was a decade ago it’ll probably take even longer to get a new game out the door.

Despite taking so long though it’ll undoubtedly be worth the wait, just look at how good this teaser trailer looks

That said it’s not like Rockstar will be taking a few years off when GTA VI is released, plans will already be put in place for the next game, albeit slow plans as there will likely be a lot of support in mind for GTA VI’s online multiplayer modes.

Fans on Reddit have been speculating what this plan could be, with one wondering if the studio will “go back to developing two games at once and probably create a new IP? They’ve been hiring a lot over the past few years, surely they can’t keep developing one game at once.”

Personally I think it’d depend on what type of game it’s looking at developing, as if it’s another open-world title like Red Dead Redemption 3 that will be a monumental task that requires all hands on deck.

If it’s something like a sequel to Bully, or a remaster/remake of an existing game that’s obviously less work, and Rockstar could always pass the responsibility for that onto another studio like other companies have done in the past.

It’s far too early to tell, and I think the majority of fans just want GTA VI in their hands before they start thinking about other Rockstar games, as it’ll surely keep us occupied in the meantime.
