GTA 6 release comes with major warning for players, says analyst

It'll be a new age for gaming

GTA VI is apparently going to cause a lot of issues when it releases for the wider gaming industry, and developers need to be ready for it.

There are a lot of great games coming out in 2025, no doubt about it, but I don’t think any of them stand a chance against GTA VI given how much hype is surrounding it.

People went mad about a teaser that only gave us glimpses of the open-world, God knows how they’ll react to the full thing

Rockstar Games is hailed as one of the best developers in the business and now the studio that brought us Red Dead Redemption 2 is gearing up to smash all of its prior records, and probably sweep the 2025 Game Awards depending on when GTA VI is launched.

That said, analysts have released a warning for other game developers, basically telling them to step up their game.

Industry analyst Emmanuel Rosier recently had an interview with GI.biz and said "Rockstar's history of crafting genre-defining titles positions GTA VI to set new industry standards. Yet, its challenge lies in navigating a gaming world increasingly dominated by live-service titles.

He went on to say “How Rockstar adapts the Grand Theft Auto formula to this evolving landscape will not only determine GTA VI’s success but may also redefine the future of open-world gaming.”

That’s probably correct, as people are still talking about how impressive Red Dead Redemption 2 was, and that’s a game that launched on last-gen systems, so GTA VI is going to be wild in comparison.

It feels like Rockstar Games is going to be leagues ahead of the competition later this year, provided GTA VI isn’t hit with any nasty delays before the big day, whenever that is of course.
