It’s believed the launch day of GTA VI will be the biggest day off in history as millions skive off from work to play Rockstar’s newest masterpiece.

In about a year’s time, provided there are no delays, we’ll finally have hands-on with GTA VI when it launches in Fall 2025, and it’s easily one of the most exciting releases in the last decade.

Take a look at the teaser trailer below

From what’s been seen in the trailer combined with the various leaks and rumours it’s clear Rockstar Games has been cooking something good, and fans are encouraging each other to take the day off work to play it.

Reddit user semprogno created a thread theorising the game’s launch day will “create the world's biggest ‘gaming day off.’”

They continued “When GTA V was released in 2013, many people took time off work to play it. A survey by The Telegraph found that 46% of respondents had scheduled a day off, while 19% planned to call in sick. What will you do? … How much do you think the ‘off gaming day’ will affect the shops around the world?”

As you can imagine many fans responded with their plans for the game’s release date, with some even planning to take an entire week off to play the game.

“Multiple people I know, including my dad. Will be calling off work for a week for the release lol,” said one fan.

“Easily 100s of thousands, if not millions, in the US will take days off for the release” added another.

However another user had a different idea, they suggested that instead of taking a day off on launch day, to “get home, start the download, and go to work while nobody else is. Call off work starting the NEXT day” to play without delay,” pretty ingenious.

Now all we need is an actual release date, and unfortunately it’s doubtful we’ll get one until sometime next year, possibly around Summer.
