Tired of hearing about Fallout 5 and how it’s impacting The Elder Scrolls VI? Then you’re in the wrong place, buddy.

The Elder Scrolls community is once again annoyed, concerned, and bickering.

Why? Due to the fact that Fallout 5 could be about to wedge another spanner in The Elder Scrolls VI’s development.

“So there's a rumour floating around from Jez Cordan that the higher ups are looking to expedite the next Fallout game so they can ride its release on the TV show hype wave,” shared PalwaJoko.

They added, “It also got me wondering how this is going to affect TES VI. Seems like the only ways they could expedite a Fallout release is to either take away resources from TES VI to prioritise Fallout 5.”

Speaking of Fallout, the future looks pretty ghoulish for Fallout 76 players. Get it?

As the OP says, this isn’t a tactic they fault Bethesda for considering how much TV shows impact games.

However, not everyone shares this opinion.

Fellow Redditor breathnac replied, “Chasing monthly TV trends when you have a seven year game dev cycle is just stupid as sh*t.”

Don’t mince your words.

Joking aside, we understand their frustration. However, given how much Amazon’s Fallout boosted the reach of the Fallout franchise, we appreciate why chasing trends is so appealing.

Not ignoring the fact that season two has started filming, as we’ve seen from the TV set photos.

There are voices of reason in this discussion, however, reminding fans to stay calm.

“It's not going to happen. TES VI will be out and then Fallout 5. People are just letting the rumours run wild because of the hype around the TV show,” cubcos explained.

Development and intended launch dates rarely run smoothly these days.

Will The Elder Scrolls VI get left behind in favour of Fallout 5 coming first? We can’t say one way or the other.

But we suspect Bethesda is eager to not rock the boat with its fans.
