New PlayStation console appears alongside Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 free download

It looks as though we have got our first glimpse at the new PlayStation 5 console that is set to arrive just in time for Christmas. The new PS5 Slim Bundles were spotted online and showed off Sony’s new design as well as some titles you can get your hands on with your purchase.

Nothing says Christmas more than another new console that we probably don’t need. However, Sony is not one to miss out on the festive period and have decided to release the PS5 Slim Bundles just in time. The new redesign reduces the unit’s size considerably as well as allowing for an attachable disc drive for the digital version.

Although we are currently unsure when Sony will be releasing the PS5 Slim, we can expect it to be sometime around November. Additionally, the redesign will be an extra $50 than the standard edition, coming in at $449.99 instead of $399.99.

Ahead of its launch, one Twitter account shared our first look at the new bundles. It appears as though the console will be sold in bundles with either Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 included. This is unsurprising considering Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released earlier this month and is currently Sony’s fastest selling PlayStation exclusive of all time. Additionally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to be released on 10 November which could hint at the PS5 Slim bundle going up for sale around this time.

As for the packaging, it appears to be similar to the standard PlayStation 5 so don’t expect any huge changes. It appears that unless your standard console has run into issues, there isn’t much point going for this upgrade. However, with the bundles featuring such exciting titles, it could be the perfect Christmas gift.
