Need For Speed Underground 2 remaster is so gorgeous we could cry

Which game is the most deserving of a remake? Correct, it's Need for Speed Underground 2, and this fan concept is honestly straight out of our dreams.

Darudnik, a freelance 3D artist, absolutely adores Need for Speed. Taking a scroll through his portfolio are a whole host of inspirations, like the original Need for Speed Underground in a cyberpunk setting and even a post-apocalyptic one too.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is cherished, and though it's unlikely that there will be an official remake due to licensing issues, fans have taken this task onto their own shoulders. These screenshots from Darudnik are absolutely amazing, hitting the nail on the head with the overall grungy feel of the game with the exceptional level of detail that we can now achieve with newer hardware. "This is f*cking sick," said one wistful player. "If Need for Speed Underground 2 ever got a remaster or remake it would need to look like this or better."

In other news, Criterion Games' Need for Speed Unbound is set in Lakeshore City and is bringing a brand new style to the racing series. It's certainly a shift from the standard realism, but I'm into it, especially those comic book flairs surrounding the cars. You are able to turn them off if you're not that enamoured, though.
