Need for Speed Unbound features a wholly new art style for the series, leaning into comic book influences with pops of colour and animation for the races. If you weren't a fan of these flairs, we've got good news, because you can switch those off "just like any other part of a car."

While these additions are what makes Unbound so unique, it's possible that these will aggravate the eyes or even trigger headaches for those who are sensitive to flashing lights. The official Twitter account for Need for Speed Unbound confirmed that the features are toggleable apart from the Basic Tail Smoke and Trail Lights as these are a staple of the games.

How do you feel about the stylised effects? Check out the trailer for Need for Speed Unbound below!

Not only is there a new aesthetic, there's a new physics system coming to the streets of Unbound, offering the "deepest driving system and the best handling" from a Criterion Games title to date.

"I think players are really going to feel the difference and be able to- across a broad range of vehicle types- feeling the difference between a nimble, small European car or a big American muscle car or a hyper car," explained general manager Matt Webster in an interview with IGN. "And then when they get into more specifics of adjusting how that car handles by modifying it to suit their preferences. That shows you the level of breadth and depth that we’re able to uncover with that tech."

Cor. Quite a lot to look forward to when the game drops on 2 December for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
